Hole in our roof!!!

Photo of Turtleback MTN with a rainbow, actually a full rainbow.
Okay the month of October is pretty "holy" for us & I don't mean the religious kind either, we literally now have a hole in the roof, plus the ceiling of our house.  Dear hubby said we can now see the stars & moon with out having to go outside.............I said not funny but I did have to chuckle because we can.  However the rain can also come in, so we are praying (part of being holy) that we don't get any rain soon.  DH has decided to scrape the roof of all the hmm what shall I call it, how about "foam".  Then he plans to order what we need to put on a NEW metal roof.
So needless to say our house is once again "chaotic".  Oh well at least life is not boring at "60".

I also wanted to write that I have signed up for the 2010 Beaded Journal Project, having decided to go with a size that I can manage for each month, I am excited to once again be beading.

October is finally here

Last month we visited "La Posta" restaurant in
"Old Mesilles" New Mexico,
the food there is delicious, the atmosphere lovely.
I've wanted to post here but I am feeling very scattered, who can write when one is scattered, but here is an attempt to get caught up on how we are.

The past few months have been hectic,
my one friend Kate is moving out of state, another friend is moving into NM from Texas.

Presently I am still working on the quilt that I started months ago, it is coming along very nicely.

There is another round of BJP and I want to participate, I need some relaxing zen time for myself.
It does seem that when Fall arrives that things calm down, the summer's been very hot, dry, then a lot of rain at once, so hopefully now I will have more time to be creative & will be able to share more here.
Have a great Fall day!!!

Can you see the little baby "Horny Toad" in this photo?

Beautiful Cactus

Time once again is flying by, life gets busy when summer is here, we've had really warm weather. But hey now we are headed into September & we will now have some cooler weather....yeah!
Yours truly is getting back to sewing quilting pieces, with the hopes of making a quilt for dear hubby & I with all of our favorite colors.

My friend Holly Humphries painting "terra cotta" pots that she sells at the Farmers Market or at her beauty salon.

Over the summer I sewed some crazy quilt bags with beading, buttones & embroidery that I made to sell at the farmers market (presently I cannot find those photo's)

My friend CC is still searching for their special place here in NM, hopefully soon they will find the right place.

The Merry Busy Month of May

The month of May so far has been very busy for us, top photo is the house that we are house sitting, the house I believe is a former "boathouse", in the yard you will find Turtleback Mtn, along with the Rio Grande, then you see the "water nymph".  Love viewing the mountain, trees, river & of course all the beautiful birds, all done while watering the garden, trees & the grass.Planted a few things in the extra garden space, corn, peas, beans, radishes & lettuce of course.

I am also housesitting another friends house & taking care of her two cats, Shadow & Sheba, plus watering the plants & the garden.

This week I have managed to get a few coats of paint on the "paper mached wine boxes".  Then I will paint designs on them, one will be used for a "cat step" to the window, the other a foot stool.  Have been working on these two items since last summer when Kate taught me how to paper maches.

Latest creative items are my "Doodle greeting cards" from my doodling at strange times, my little "Guardian Angels", I figured that we all need one or more to keep us safe & in good spirits. The Angels can be attached to your purse, jacket, or anywhere you would like. you can even hang them from your mirror in your vehicle.

You can find my Doodle greeting cards & my Guardian Angels at my Etsy shop

I also have been busy sewing more crazy quilt pieces, turned one into a handbag for myself. Hopefully soon these will be available in my Etsy shop.

Okay when one loads the photo's they come up a-- backwards to what a I want them to...ugh
This past weekend TorC, NM celebratedthe 60th Fiesta, we watched our first parade, which we felt was excellent, then we headed over to the Ralph Edwards park & found this lovely hat vendor from Madagascar
, wow, beautiful people & wonderful hats..........then DH & I went down to where we are house sitting to watch the junk boats go by, sorry I missed taking the first one that went down the Rio Grande, but I did catch this one...which was the last one...made from the remains of an old "dock"...it was slow going for them but hey it made it down the river.
Then I added my latest beaded "Angels" to my http://cibjotee.etsy.com store....I have also been busy sewing, watering & just being plain busy.  Seems once the nice weather hits I go none stop, DH is still going slow most days, he is excercising but I still think he is not totally comfortable with retirement.  You know having that schedule to
